So this is month one of The GF Peach. Believe it or not, it took us about 2 weeks to get this site up and organized. I may have only slept an average of 4 hours those nights, but the adrenaline and excitement just carried me through into the night.

Here's How We Made The Site

We created this site using Thrive Themes Content Builder. It's a simple-to-use drag and drop system for WordPress.

In the past I've used drag and drop builders like Squarespace and Weebly. Both are extremely easy to use, simple, and organized, but I always got to a point where I needed to pay code experts to get the site how I wanted. I realize now that this is where I would give up on blogging. I am a visual person and need my site a certain way, not being able to do that frustrated me so much that I literally quit! Here's a site I made with Weebly that I still own www.aginginplaceot.com , I literally gave up on it!

Fortunately we came across Thrive Themes and was sold when we saw their training program, Thrive University. Simply put, we have not needed any experts for this site and 99% of the design features we want, we're able to do ourselves. And don't forget, this is all through WordPress so you have access to all the amazing plethora of plugins you don't get on other sites.

Goals

So as an occupational therapist, one of the most important areas of our job is our ability to write attainable, measurable, time-related short and long term goals in regards to a persons functional capabilities (mental or physical).

While we will not follow standard note taking forms like SOAP or COAST. We will create monthly goals that are achievable, measurable, and time-related.

HERE'S THE INFOGRAPHIC WITH OUR GOALS FOR JULY 2017

For month one, we're not over-reaching our goals because we know there is still lots to learn. Beyond creating amazing content, we know a lot of time will be spent on things like learning systems, setting up social media accounts, implementing call-to-action and opt-in forms, etc.

On top of this we are keeping track of all our expenses for this website. This includes costs for training and special features. We hope to share this once we begin making some income.

At the beginning of next month we will reflect on the previous months goals, what to do better, what to add, and how to improve for the next month.

We will also be starting our visual timeline that will go over everything major we've done up until this point. We hope to continue it throughout our sites journey.

That's it for our first month.

LET'S TALK

  • Do you make goals for your side hustle or blog?
  • Are they attainable, measurable, and time-related?
  • Are your method's different?
  • We're trying to figure this all out, do you have any suggestions on things we should add?
